Winner's prize
Bragging rights, and ... that's about it.
Details
  • For each robot, a pair of ropes will be suspended from the ceiling approximately 12 inches apart.
  • If ropes cannot be hung from the ceiling, I'll be bringing something else along.
  • The rope is what was used for Tug Of War, see here for more information.
  • The ropes will end approximately 20 inches from the floor
  • Attach your robot to these ropes so that no part of it ever touches the floor, either before starting or while it is running.
  • Two robots will compete against each other at the same time
  • You may start your robot by any means, as long as this does not
    1. significantly push or pull the robot into motion, or
    2. interfere with the other robots.
  • The winning robot is the one that hits the target first (if we set up targets), or is the one that has swung the highest at the end of 3 minutes.
